Lutterloh Unboxing What Are You Really Getting?

Image
Lutterloh Unboxing YouTube video: US link -  https://i-love-dressmaking.com/ What comes in the box: Book with 180 patterns (xx pages) Two push pins specialty tape measure DVD  cardboard curved ruler What patterns are you getting? I did some research and the book I just ordered (January 2021) has 7 complete supplements in it. The supplements are 305-311. Do not confuse patterns for pages. 280 patterns do not equal 280 pages. There are 2-3 patterns on the back side of each page.  How does the price break down compared to traditional patterns? I went on the simplicity website and their patterns average around $4-$5 a piece. Lutterloh has about 40 patterns per supplement at $22.50 per supplement. If you were to buy 40 traditional patterns, that would cost close to $160. So I'd say that's quite a steal. Annual subscription To find the subscription I had to type "subscription" into the search bar. It is $75 currently for supplements 319-322  History (history tab on website...

Vintage Lutterloh Pattern Regency Dress

Image
Vintage Lutterloh Pattern Regency Dress The Inspiration: Bridgerton the Netflix tv show. The pattern inspiration: Butterick 6630 Lutterloh Pattern Used: I do not know what supplement this pattern came from.  Modifictions: I shortened the bodice, lengthened the skirt by three inches, and used the puffy sleeves from the Butterick pattern. I closed the back of the skirt with pleats instead of gathering. Lastly, I added grommet eyelets to fasten the back instead of a zipper. Materials used: 4 yards of dress fabric (cotton) 4 yards of lining fabric (cotton) 2 spools of trim 1 spool of lace (faux pearls were not used) A big emphasis of this video is to bring awareness that if you do buy a Lutterloh kit, you can join the private Lutterloh facebook group (called Lutterloh System). This has been such a great group to be apart of. Many of the same questions I've had, have been asked in the group, it's fun to see what other people are sewing, and you can post your questions i...

Quilted Jacket Lutterloh Pattern 271

Image
I was inspired to make this quilted jacket from the tiktoker/instagmer wandythemaker . I love how he uses quilts and sleeping bags from the 90's to make jackets and hoodies. When I first started my sewing journey I cut out squares from my daughter's onesie's, and I was going to make a quilt. Unfortunately, that never happened. So I've had this quilt fabric laying around for a few years collecting dust, and I was inspired by wandythemaker to finally put it to good use! Lutterloh pattern number 271 Where to begin attach the two bodice pieces right sides together at the shoulders. Sleeves do you want to add an embellishment? Now's the time to do it! I sewed to gather strips of fabric right sides together. Then I sew that gathered fabric on while also sewing the sleeve onto the bodice. I hand sewed a string of faux pearls down the middle of the gathered fabric. Then I sewed two strings of pears on as well. This took a lot of time to get the string of beads to lay just r...

2020 Sewing Makes Review

Image
This has been a trying year for many of us, myself included. I did not get to sew as much as I would have liked while having my three-year-old at home full time, but I did get to accomplish, I am very proud of. Instagram First make of 2020: The first dress I've ever sewed.   I love sewing clothes for my daughter. The pattern pieces are so small, and it feels so quick sewing clothes for her, and as an added bonus, she tends to love anything I sew for her.  I purchased the pattern from etsy. You can find it here . Pattern Drafted Sweater I created this sweater from a pajama top pattern, and I drafted the sleeves. This was my 2020 Valentine's Day outfit. A Little Valentine's Day Dress With the extra fabric I sewed a little dress for my daughter. I pattern drafted the dress by copying another dress of hers. This was also my first time using tulle.  The Face Mask I think many people learned how to sew face masks this year. I do not enjoy making face masks. I made a few,...
